After three highly engaging, empowering conferences, anticipation for #blackcomputeHER 2019 was high! Nearly 200 black women technologists attended and experienced the powerful and uplifting experience that is intrinsic to the #blackcomputeHER brand. Masterclasses offered professional development on topics including entrepreneurship, data science, and career development.

The 2018 #blackcomputeHER conference was held in Atlanta, GA. Over the course of three days, more than 100 attendees gathered and created safe spaces to receive the support required for growth and career advancement.

Nearly one-hundred (100) black women technologists gathered in Washington, DC for the inaugural Black Women in Computing Conference, #blackcomputeHER. During the conference, attendees from industry, academia, and government focused on: Creating new networks and catalyzing the community of black women in computing, Developing skills in leadership, communication, wellness, and career development, and Discussing salient themes in the intersection of race and gender in computing.

Twenty-four (24) black women in computing representing academia, industry, and government participated in a two-day workshop. We explored the international experiences of black women in computing+tech and transformed strategies into an actionable plan that addresses the lack of awareness around this intersectionality.
