Dr. Jasmine Jones is an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science Department at Berea College. Jasmine’s expertise is in Human-Computer Interaction, specializing in the study and design of interactive embedded computing systems in social contexts. Her work has focused on designing novel technologies for preserving and sharing collective memory, helping people with chronic conditions achieve their health and wellness goals, and understanding the role of accessibility tools in the lives of people with disabilities. Before joining the faculty at Berea, Jasmine worked as a Postdoctoral Associate at the University of Minnesota, where she designed digital self-reflection tools for people adopting positive behaviors in recovery from substance abuse. She received her PhD from the University of Michigan, where she was National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow, GEM PhD Science Fellow, and Rackham Merit Fellow. Jasmine earned a B.S. in Computer Science and B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) where she was a Meyerhoff Scholar, Center for Women in Information Technology Scholar, and a member of the Honors College.
