DR. QUINCY BROWN
Quincy Brown is in her second tour as a Senior Policy Advisor in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP). Prior to re-joining the White House, she was a Senior Director for Innovation Research at AnitaB.org. She has also served as a Program Director for STEM Education Research at the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). She is a leader in STEM and Computer Science education and workforce development in PK-20 and has been supporting Black women and girls in computing for nearly two decades.
DR. JAMIKA D. BURGE
Jamika D. Burge is Head of Enterprise Design Research & Insights at Capital One. Her team focuses on uncovering insights for enterprise, products, and platform experiences. She is also a member of the Blacks in Tech (BIT) leadership team, where she focuses on strategic impact of BIT programming. She is especially interested inclusive and responsible AI which supports all people, and she has served as tech consultant to the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) in the Information Innovation Office (I2O). She is Founder and Principal of Design & Technology Concepts, LLC, a design research and tech education firm. She is a leader in computer science education and STEM preparedness efforts, providing expertise for a host of programs funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the Computing Research Association (CRA). Jamika, and her work, have been featured in the New York Times and Computerworld.
DR. JAKITA THOMAS
Jakita O. Thomas is a Philpott Westpoint Stevens Associate Professor of Computer Science and Software Engineering at Auburn University and Director of the CUltuRally & SOcially Relevent (CURSOR) Computing Lab. Her research interests include exploring the development of computational algorithmic thinking, intersectional computing, promoting access to healthcare information and services for under-served populations, improving reasoning using expert cases, scientific reasoning, and complex cognitive skills learning. Dr. Thomas is a recipient of the National Science Foundation's Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Award (2012 - 2019) as well as the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE) (2016).
